This 2018 subject category is in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (1968-2018). There are currently 200 stretches of rivers in 40 states and Puerto Rico protected by this act for their outstanding natural, cultural, and recreational values in a free-flowing condition for the enjoyment of all. Contest entry in this category does not have to be of a river protected by this act, but must be a river within the specified "Location of Photo Subject" detailed the contest rules.

Quantity: You can submit only ONE color photograph JPG file in this category, Historic Object. Photo file must be no smaller than 1600 x 1200 pixels. This image can have minimal image manipulation, such as cropping and exposure adjustments. Advanced techniques, such as cutting or pasting, that creates an end product that does not reflect the scene as it appears in reality should not be used.
